"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life."

-Muhammad Ali

Hello, my name is Daniel Walker. I am a graduate of The Art Institute of Dallas with a BFA in Advertising Design. I am skilled in the Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. I also posses skills in Branding & Identity, Layout, and Copywriting.

I love to see a project come together. Starting with just an idea and a few rough sketches that ultimately turn into a finished product is a process I truly enjoy. My creative journey began at the age of 10, when I discovered a passion for footwear. As a child, I would take the shoes I would see in Eastbay magazines, and would replicate them on paper. After replicating each shoe, I would draw the shoe again while making slight modifications to the original design to ultimately make my own unique design. It was that spark of creative curiosity that ultimately lead to me pursuing a degree from the Art Institute of Dallas in Advertising Design from 2014-2017.

I chose to pursue Advertising Design as a major due to the inspiring ads I would see growing up and present day from athletic brands particularly Nike, Jordan, and Adidas. The advertisements that I remember most vividly are Nike’s “Second coming,” Jordan brands Air Jordan XXX ad “Make space” featuring Russell Westbrook, and Adidas’ “Quick ain’t fair” advertisement featuring Adidas basketball stars, John Wall, Damian Lillard, and Jrue Holiday. Those ads filled me with excitement, confidence, and created brand loyalty from just the advertisement alone not even seeing the product in reality.

Through my passion for footwear, design, and a desire to learn, I've learned valuable lessons I can apply to any project whether it be a carefully thought out Advertising campaign or a simplistic logo design. There are three lessons in particular that I value the most, which are: It's not a bad thing to restart a design, learn to ask for help, and last but not least, don't believe the doubters when they say your creative ideas can't come to life. If you can think it, you can create it.
